History
The Story Begins in 2003
Although the idea of Kobrawap was around much earlier then this, this was when it started to come together.
When it really started
The story really begins in 2002 when the first site was created, although at this time it went under a different name.
The concept was simple and one we still continue to fulfill, to deliver free mobile content to you.
Kobrawap has come a long way since then but this idea is still at the heart of Kobrawap and hopefully it will remain there for many years to come.
August 23rd 2003
Why August the 23rd 2003? This was the date the previous site hit the 1 million vistor mark and as planned a new site was launched, with improved features and visual appearance.
The site was still being freely hosted at this time, so site uptime wasn't always guaranteed and this was limiting any future growth of the site, Kobrawap continued to be freely hosted right up in to early 2004.
Early 2004
Kobrawap moved to a full hosting and the first way for users on the site to communicate between each other shortly followed thanks to stv. The forums didn't last though with them eventually falling in to a state of disrepair, when he left (we have new forums now though).
It was a while after this before communication on Kobrawap begun again.
October 2004
This was the month PHP and Kobrawap became friends, with PHP being covered in part at university, Kobrawap finally grasped PHP for it's communication needs.
First came the Chat System although the first version is now defunct and was surpassed by later versions in the way of features, this was when Chat Box was born. Many thanks again to all thouse users, who made it a success and without them all later versions would never have followed, so Kobrawap will always be greatful for those early users as well as the current users, thank you.
